Today Warner Music Group (WMG), and The Sandbox announced a marquee partnership. They will jointly create The Sandbox’s first music-themed world. This announcement marks WMG’s first entry in the metaverse, and is another major partnership for The Sandbox.
Warner Music Group’s metaverse entry is marked by the Sandbox partnership
Warner Music Group’s “LAND in The Sandbox” will be a hybrid of a concert venue and a theme park. This means that both teams will collaborate to create immersive musical experiences in The Metaverse. WMG artists can interact with their fans in new and exciting ways.
Warner Music Group is without a doubt one of the largest music companies in the globe. It houses many of the top music acts under major labels such as Elektra Records, Parlophone and Atlantic. Just a few of the WMG’s top acts include Ed Sheeran and Cardi B as well as David Guetta and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The Sandbox has announced that WMG will be partnering with The Sandbox to bring its vast talent roster to The Sandbox. We will be seeing more live events and experiences in the metaverse, featuring some of the most prominent musicians around the globe.
Oana Ruxandra was Chief Digital Officer at Warner Music Group and EVP for Business Development. She had these words to say about the partnership.
“Our partnership with The Sandbox creates a new level of possibility in The Metaverse,” she says. WMG and The Sandbox will create experiences “that defy real world limitations and allow our artists to engage like never before.”
Another huge partnership with The Sandbox
The Sandbox announced the partnership with Warner Music Group in. This is another significant partnership between The Sandbox and an iconic brand. This is something that the Sandbox has done for many months.
Warner Music Group is not the first major music company to partner with The Sandbox. The platform has already partnered with Snoop Dogg, a superstar musician and NFT collector. Snoop Dogg and The Sandbox hosted two virtual land sales. The second, saw DJ Steve Aoki join The Sandbox.
There are also many other notable names in The Sandbox that are not musicians.
LAND in the Sandbox has attracted a variety of companies including Adidas and PwC Hong Kong . It has partnered with major NFT project . It also announced today a $50million metaverse accelerator program in partnership to Brinc.
The Sandbox will hold a LAND Sale in February to celebrate its partnership with WMG. Fans will be able to purchase metaverse land near Warner Music Group at that time. It’s not unlikely that LAND will be affordable with all the plans that WMG, The Sandbox, and other companies have.
